Our History

The Moskal & Kennedy Funeral Home is a four generation family business owned and operated by the Kennedy's since 1991. 

For 72 years, the Moskal and Kennedy Funeral Home has provided affordable, quality,  personalized service to the families of the Johnstown community. 

The Kennedy family has four generations of experience in funeral service serving the city of Johnstown beginning with Thomas A. Kennedy, who owned the Thomas A. Kennedy Funeral Home on Walnut Street in downtown Johnstown. 
Second generation funeral director, Michael D. Kennedy, Sr. worked at numerous funeral homes in the Johnstown area. 
Third generation funeral director, Michael D. Kennedy Jr. was the owner of the Moskal & Kennedy Funeral Home on 219 Ohio St. & Highland Ave. in Johnstown. Mike was awarded the John Rebol Award in 1978 for highest scholastic achievement in all areas of study at the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and also graduated Valedictorian of his class. 

Fourth generation funeral director, Daniel B. Kennedy, Supervisor, Licensed Pennsylvania Life Insurance Agent, is committed to serving families and conducting services that honor and support their families.

The Moskal & Kennedy Funeral Home takes pride in the services we provide, and the Kennedy family and staff strive to make a difficult time easier with caring, personalized and professional service. 

Our funeral home is a beautiful, homelike building large enough to accommodate any size family comfortably. It is our tradition to go above and beyond for each family we serve by celebrating a loved one's life in a meaningful way.
