Theresa Sophia Ryba

Ryba, Theresa Sophia (Bargel), 94, Moxham, passed away May 7, 2022 at Windber Hospice. Born April 28, 1928 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Pavel and Zophia (Tomkowska) Bargel. Preceded in death by loving husband, Stanley Ryba on February 13, 2006; brothers, Stanley, Walter and Blaine Bargel; sisters, Mary Lambert, Ann Czyrnik, Helen Tomkowski and Emily Sycz. Survived by loving children, Martin married to the former Jean Lasagna; Susan married to John Robson; Brian married to the former Susan Felix; and Anthony Ryba; grandchildren, Rebecca married to Brett Wilmotte; Laura Robson; Christine married to Steve Demorest; Mike Ryba married to the former Michelle Mock; Karen married to Travis Weaver; and Daniel Ryba; great grandchildren, Ryan and Joshua Wilmotte; Cecilia Ryba; Grace, Matthew and Benjamin Weaver. Theresa enjoyed cooking, growing flowers and was a devout Catholic, faithful life member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Johnstown. A special thank you to the nurses and aides from Windber Home Health and Windber Hospice, the staff at Walmart Pharmacy, Fr. Larry Lacovic for anointing of the sick and for Fr. Matthew Baum for praying, offering communion and spending time with Theresa during her final months. Family will receive friends Tuesday, May 10th from 2 to 8 p.m. at Moskal & Kennedy Colonial Funeral Home, Johnstown, where vigil service will be held. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 11th at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Johnstown, Fr. Matthew Baum. Committal St. Casimir Polish Catholic Cemetery, Johnstown.
