Richard W. Michaels Sr.

MICHAELS SR, RICHARD W. (73) went to be the Lord May 16, 2023. Born June 15,1949 in Johnstown, son of the late George and Betty (Frampton) Michaels. Preceded in death by parents, sister Deborah Morgart, brother William, daughter Tammy Michaels. Survived by wife Jean (Johns), daughter Richelle (Casey) Wentz Johnstown, sons Richard W. (Jess) Johnstown, Christopher, Delaware, step-children Tony Jr. (Tawnya), Kenneth Jr. (Ashley), David, Jennifer (Antonio), Andrea (David) Tina and Shelia all of Johnstown. Also 31 grandchildren and 11 great-children; brother, Mark Michaels; sister, Gwen Oakley married to Russ; and by special friend Claudia Plows (Salix). Richard enjoyed family dinners with his family, attending baseball games at D street ballfield and Johnstown Tomahawks hockey games. Richard was an avid Steeler and Penguin fan. He was also a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Scalp Ave and a member of Vietnam Vets of American Chapter #0364. He attended Johnstown High School and served with the United States Army 1969. Family will receive friends Monday, May 22nd from 3 to 7 p.m. at Moskal & Kennedy Colonial Funeral Home of Johnstown, where a time of sharing will follow after the visitation. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society in memorial of Rich. www.kennedycarefh.com.
