Edwards, Nancy P., 91, Johnstown, passed away July 5, 2023. Born August 23, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA. Daughter of John and Alice (Goga) Plaskon. Preceded in death by parents, husband William Robert “Bob” Edwards, brother Richard Plaskon, and brother Buddy Plaskon. Nancy was born and lived in Pittsburgh for 43 years, in Swissvale and Plum Boro. She then moved to Johnstown, where she lived in Southmont for 46 years and then Westmont for two. Nancy was a legal secretary in Pittsburgh, and later a medical secretary. In her early years she was an accomplished seamstress, making clothes and doll clothes for her daughters. She also used to garden and can vegetables. She was an avid card player of Canasta, 500, Pinochle, and Wizard. She was a true card shark and was playing Canasta and 500 by the age of five. She was a member of many card clubs, and most recently her beloved "500 Club." She was also an avid player of Mexican Train Dominoes and hosted many a game night with family and friends. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, which often involved games and cards as well. Another favorite was watching her soaps, especially The Young & The Restless, which she watched for 50 years. She also loved to read novels and do puzzle books. And after a reluctant introduction to technology, she became fluent on her computer, iPad, and iPhone. She remained plugged in till the end, often texting, watching videos, and playing word games on them. A lover of Christmas, she made the holidays special for her family every year. And she loved her Hallmark Christmas movies. She was so into the holidays that there were always some Christmas decorations up all year long. The world will not be the same without her kind and generous spirit.
