Svitchan, Josephine Carol, 95, Southmont, passed away peacefully October 1, 2022 at her daughter's home in Harrisburg, PA. Born September 1, 1927 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Bela and Josephine (Jurisin) Zdravecky. Preceded in death by husband, Milan Svitchan; brothers, Albert and Stephen; sisters Helen Bachik and Anka Zdravecky. Survived by loving daughters, Kristine S. Parker, Ohio; and Jane Svitchan, Harrisburg; son, William Todd Svitchan, Johnstown; grandchildren, Adam E. Parker, Dianna J. Parker, Jeffrey M. Parker married to Stefanie; great grandchild, Ellie Marsa Parker; brothers, George Zdravecky married to Rhoda; and William Zdravecky married to Betty Jean, all of Johnstown; she is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. Josephine was a wonderful homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by many. She was a devout Catholic, faithful life member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Johnstown, where she volunteered cleaning the Church and was a frequent supporter of the Infant Jesus of Prague Novena's. Josephine was also a published children's book author and co-founder of Jump in the Woods Publishing, and an excellent seamstress. Her talents, spirit and love of life will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Josephine's family will receive friends at Moskal & Kennedy Colonial Funeral Home, Johnstown, Friday, October 7th. from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. departure for her Funeral mass celebrated 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Johnstown, Fr.
