Maloney, James (Jim) L. Jr. 96, Westmont, formerly of Stoystown, was called home by the Lord on February 18, 2024 at McCullough Place. Born August 2, 1927 in Pittsburgh, son of the late James L. Maloney Sr. and Elizabeth S. (Daugherty). Preceded in death by 1st wife, Phyllis (Clayton) Maloney; 2nd wife, Edith (Hankins) Maloney; son, William Clayton Maloney; sister, Margaret Mae Skrzynski (Ronald); brother, Lt. General William R. Maloney, USMC, Ret.; and brother-in-law, Gabriel A. Ferraro. Survived by loving son, James L. Maloney, III. married to Patricia; loving daughters, Eileen (Leana) J. Pears; and Patricia Ann married to William Miller; grandchildren, James L. Maloney, IV married to Katie; Gerald Patrick Maloney married to Ambray; Nathanial John Pears married to Brittany; Sarah Lynn Pears; David Jeffrey Maloney married to Andrea; Jesse David Pears married to Alexis; Caitlyn Frances Maloney; and Micah Tyler Pears married to Nellica; great grandchildren, Taylor, David, Riley, Josie, Emma, Faith, Hope, James V, Keegan, Juniper, Gaia, Elowyn, Ashton and Jarod; sister, Elizabeth Jean Ferraro; and by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Jim proudly served his country during World War II, and later served in the Army reserves. Jim was elected both a Deacon and an Elder in the Presbyterian Church; was a member of SAE (mechanical engineering); Woodworker’s Club; a site leader for Habitat for Humanity; delivered Meals on Wheels and initiated the Medical Lending Closet. Jim worked as a chief mechanical engineer in Pittsburgh where he and Phyllis raised their four children. Proud of his Irish heritage, his favorite holiday was St. Patrick’s Day and this March 17th, his blue Irish eyes will be smiling from Heaven. Jim’s life is a legacy because of his huge heart for helping others. At the request of the Maloney family, there will not be a viewing or service at this time.
