James R. Kassander

Kassander, James R., 72, Johnstown, passed away March 30, 2024 at Meadowview Nursing Center, Berlin. Born April 4, 1951 in Johnstown, son of the late George M. Sr. and Julia (Chorek) Kassander. Preceded in death by brother, George M. Kassander Jr; and by sister, Judith Robson. Survived by loving wife of 52 years, Evelyn M. (Rheel) Kassander; son, Aaron J. Kassander; daughters, Shannon Marie Wolk; and Jenny R. married to Jeffery Weis; grandchild, Bailey Weis; and sister-in-law, Lynn Kassander. James was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.  He enjoyed watching classic films and TV shows among hunting, fishing, ice fishing with his family and friends. He enjoyed cooking wild game and fish. He loved listening to the Beatles and The Doors.  Back in the day, he was quite the gymnast.  He loved peacing out at his camper and riding his  Harleys.  He wanted his children to live their best lives in his own style.  At the request of James, there will be no viewing or service.
