Eileen Marie (Reed) McMonagle

McMonagle, Eileen, Marie (Reed), 82, Westmont, passed away March 20th, 2024 at Memorial Medical Center. Born October 25th, 1941 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Cowles) Reed. Preceded in death by her son, William (Billy); loving husband, James Sr.; sisters, Carol and Peggy; and sister-in-law, Judy Reed. A graduate of Franklin High School class of 1959, she was married in October of 1966 and began her life as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She took the job of motherhood seriously instilling in her sons, through love and discipline, the difference between right and wrong; respect of others; and the importance of always doing their best. As a stay-at-home mother, she was always there when her sons came home from school. She loved being a grandmother, spending many an afternoon or night at a baseball field, basketball court, football field, soccer pitch or auditorium watching and supporting her family. She enjoyed spending a summer evening sitting on the front porch visiting with family and neighbors. She is survived by sons, James L. Jr. married to Julie, Shavertown, PA; Michael P. married to Darla, Colonial Beach, VA; Tim A. married to Jennifer, Troutdale, OR; and Daniel P. married to Diana, Colonial Beach, VA; Ten grandchildren; brother, Robert "Bobby" Reed, St. Mary's, PA; sister, Teri Reed, Johnstown; also by numerous nieces and nephews. She was a devout Catholic, life member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Johnstown, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Family will receive friends Friday, March 22nd from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moskal & Kennedy Colonial Funeral Home of Johnstown, where vigil service will be held. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 23rd at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 609 Park Ave. Johnstown, with Very Rev. Matthew Baum. Committal next to her husband and son to follow at Grandview Cemetery.
