Charles E. King

King, Charles E., 91, Johnstown, passed away April 7th 2022 at Richland Healthcare & Rehabilitation. Born April 8th 1930 in Johnstown, son of the late David King and Lobelia (Baker) King-Mason. Preceded in death by brothers, Otis, Clifford, Dave, Norman, Berman, Harold and Howard; sister, Freddie Mae Cashaw; grandson, Arontay Williams; and great grandson, Jayden Williams. Survived by loving daughter, Rev. Donna Williams, Monroeville; son, Charles King, Philadelphia; son, James King, Philadelphia; daughter, Agnes McRavion, Philadelphia; son, Raymond King, New York; brothers, Thomas King, Philadelphia; and John King, Michigan; sister, Arjustice Darby, Philadelphia; also by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and used his gifts the Lord gave him in finding his passion in teaching for many years at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Philadelphia.  He further used his talents by offering private music lessons, and being a key member of the Charles King Trio Band in Philadelphia; and as an honorary member of Smooth Sound band. He performed for many years in the Johnstown Juneteenth Celebrations. He also was an active member in his retirement years with Fitness Weights and Aerobics and the Flood City Youth Fitness Academy.  He was an active tennis player up until his 90th year. Charles was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many and will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. Family will receive friends Wednesday, April 13th from 11:00 a.m. to Noon Homegoing service at Moskal & Kennedy Colonial Funeral Home, 219 Ohio St. Johnstown, Rev. Rita Williams, officiating and Rev. Clyde Williams Jr., Eulogist.
