Funeral Etiquette

Funeral ceremony has proven worth in value for those who mourn and honor the deceased. A last opportunity to say goodbye and begin the healing process. Through a funeral the family take the first step toward acceptance of the loss. 

Funeral Service...

The family has choice of what type of funeral rite they desire for their loved one to honor their life. This service can take place at our Funeral Home, place of worship, favorite place if allowed, and at home. It is important to notify family / friend's of the death through phone and newspaper obituary listings. We list the obituary on our website and on Facebook Page.

Private Service...

This rite is by invitation only and general public will not be admitted due to family request or religious belief's. We can assist you with your decision by offering our experience. 

Memorial Service...

A funeral rite without the body present. Conducted in the same manner family will receive friends. Some families choose to have a viewing  / visitation followed by private graveside service.

Pall Bearer's...

The name pall bearer means one who carries casket, it is an honor to be selected. Should family choose not to carry the casket our Funeral Home Staff can be pall bearers.

Eulogy...

A person who knew or cared about the deceased could give a Eulogy. Traditionally the eulogy is not lengthy, but commemorate and reflect on the life of the deceased.

Funeral Procession...

Procession is a tradition that those participating in the service accompany the hearse to the deceased final resting place. The funeral director will advise you to procedures to follow in the funeral procession.

Condolences...

Notify yourself, tell about a favorite memory of deceased, share if they taught you something. Keep in mind some times less is more if you sense the family is busy try to wait till a late time to share your memory.

Dress...

Those attending a funeral should dress modestly and in good taste. 

Flower's...

Flower's show a sense of beauty and offer much comfort to the family. As a courtesy after the funeral our staff will remove flower card's and give them to the family along with pictures of floral arrangement's so the family can send acknowledgement's.

Memorial Donations...

Memorial contribution is an act of respect given to the deceased. Our funeral director can assist you in choosing where to send your donation. In most instances, they are given to churches or charitable organzations.

Sympathy Card's...

Send a sym[athy card to someone who is mourning. The card should contain a prayer, poem, or kind word's to help during this difficult time. We encourage you to do this cause after the service is complete family need people to help them through.

Children at Funeral's...

Children have an awarness and response to death. Children should be given the choice to attend or not. The Funeral Director can advise you on how to assist children and can provide information and informational pamphlet's.

Grief Recovery...

It is both healthy and beneficial to talk openly with family and friend's. WHen a person dies, there is greif to experience and heal. Our Family Funeral Home created Kennedy Moving Forward Grief Support Group to help those in our community transition from grief to healing. We take tours, go to dinner, and sporting event's it's an honor to help you through a difficult time.
